The next Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon is coming up and I have decided somewhat last minute to participate again for two reasons:
1. Read-a-thons are fun. They just are. There’s something really nice about knowing that you’re reading at the same time as a whole bunch of other book-lovers. It's like you're a team. Read-a-thons are about as close as I get to participating in/enjoying team sports
2. I am so behind on my reading for this month. Seriously. So 24 hours where I try to read as much as I possibly can sounds like a perfect idea. Nothing like trying to make up for a month’s worth of reading in one day. What could go wrong?!
This read-a-thon starts on the 29th of April and where you live in the world will determine what time you start. This way everyone starts at the exact same time, no matter where you live. Which I think is SO COOL! For me, my start time is 10pm Saturday 29th April and my end time is 10pm Sunday 30th April. So I should be able to AT LEAST get a solid Sunday of reading in. Fingers crossed…
For more information about this fun read-a-thon go to http://www.24hourreadathon.com/ They run these read-a-thons multiple times a year and they’re super fun.
So here is my tentative TBR for the upcoming read-a-thon. In the interest of feeling like I’ve actually accomplished something I’ve picked some shorter/quicker reads. Now is not the time for me to start some new epic fantasy series with 1000ish pages…

Attack on Titan volume 5 – Hajime Isayama
Death Note (Black Edition) Volume 5 –Tsugumi Ohba
Death Note (Black Edition) Volume 6 – Tsugumi Ohba
Hidden Bodies – Caroline Kepnes
Red Rising – Pierce Brown
The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two – Catherynne M. Valente
I picked short books... but I also picked 6 which maaaayy have been just a touch ambitious. Will I read all of these? Probably not. Will I read at least one of them? Well... hopefully, yeah. I’m at least giving myself points for trying.
